Facts About Weight Loss Supplements You Must Know

You’ve seen the adds, you’ve read all the hype, you’ve heard the testimonials, but are they true? Do weight loss supplements really work, can they stimulate your body into becoming a fat burning, energy churning machine?

Most weight loss supplements can assist in weight loss by doing one or more of the following:

• Suppress appetite
• Speed up Metabolism
• Interfere with the body’s ability to absorb specific nutrients in food
• Shed excess water

Although a combination of the ingredients in some of the supplements out there can stimulate your body, you’ll find that with all of them, you still need to incorporate a healthy diet and exercise program if you really want to see a difference.

When you’re tired, the right supplements can give you the much needed energy boost to be more active. If you’re bloated, a diuretic can dehydrate your cells that eliminated excess water; an appetite suppressant can reduce cravings; so, while all of these different weight loss pills can stimulate your body, they cannot create fat loss while you sit around and do nothing – only you can create fat loss through diet and exercise!

That’s not to say that supplements won’t work at all; some good supplements can enhance your weight loss program but at least 90% or more of the results you see will be from plain old fashioned hard work.

The only guaranteed way to really speed up your metabolism permanently is by:

• Eating smaller portions more often.
• Participating in regular cardiovascular exercise to increase calorie expenditure.
• Resistance training to strengthen and build muscles because the more lean muscle you have, the more calories your body burns.

The Most Important Meal of the Day

Needless to say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it basically kick starts your metabolism after being at rest all night. If you do eat breakfast, you’ll notice that you’ll probably feel hungry even earlier than you would if you hadn’t eaten. This is good because it means your metabolism is working and it’s asking for more fuel to keep burning strong. The best thing to do is have a healthy snack about 2 to 3 hours after breakfast and before lunch. This snack will most likely allow you to get to lunch less hungry, which is good, because this way you will not over eat. Another 2 to 3 hours after lunch have another healthy snack, which should also help you to not over eat during dinner.

Eating more consistently can increase your energy because you avoid the blood sugar highs and lows and most importantly it helps control hunger and cravings which are what lead you to cheating or binge eating.

Bon Appetite!
